House rules

PART 1: HOUSE RULES   

 

I. Scope of application  

  

1. premises  

These house rules apply to the premises of Culturespaces Deutschland GmbH, hereinafter referred to as Port des Lumières.  

  

2. legal  

The provisions of these house rules must be observed. Persons who do not comply with the house rules are not permitted to remain on the premises of Port des Lumières and may be expelled from the exhibition rooms. All persons must comply with the instructions of the admission and control staff, the staff of the building, the police, the fire department, the rescue service and the instructions of the official supervisory bodies.  

  

II Visitors  

3. access, stay, outdoor areas  

Visitors are permitted to remain in the entrance and cash desk areas until further notice. Access to the exhibition and other rooms intended for guests is only permitted upon presentation of a valid admission ticket for the event in question and is restricted to the areas associated with the event in question. If such an admission ticket is not presented, access may be denied to the exclusion of any claims for reimbursement. Access to or presence in other rooms, e.g. staff or office areas or technical rooms, is not permitted.  

  

4. children  

Please note that we do not recommend visiting with children under the age of 5.  

  

5. duty of supervision for children  

Children up to the age of twelve may only enter the exhibition if accompanied by a sufficient number of suitable supervisors. Climbing over the balustrades as well as climbing and romping in the rooms is prohibited. Visitors with children must ensure that these regulations are observed.   

  

6. checkroom  

Umbrellas, sticks, larger bags, rucksacks and similar or bulky items must be locked in lockers or left in the area provided for this purpose. Baby carriages are prohibited in the hall for safety reasons, but can be folded up and left in our lockers. We recommend that you use a baby carrier. Walking frames may also be parked outside the lockers in the immediate vicinity of the doors to the exhibition rooms, but not in the main traffic routes. We accept no liability for these items.  

  

7. photo, film, video and sound recordings  

Photos and video recordings may be made without flash and light, provided they are intended for private use. The use of recordings for commercial purposes is not permitted. Access with a tripod is not permitted for safety reasons. If you share your recordings via social media, we would be pleased to receive a link.  

  

8. animals  

Out of consideration for animal welfare, pets are not permitted. The loud music, changing light effects and dark atmosphere can be very stressful for animals. 

  

9. noise level  

At some events, there may be a risk of damage to hearing and health due to high noise levels. Visitors can request suitable hearing protection at the ticket office, which will be issued free of charge. Port des Lumières accepts no liability for damage to hearing or health in this context.  

  

10 Disruption of events, alcoholization  

Visitors who persistently disrupt the event or are obviously impaired by alcohol, drugs or other intoxicants may be prevented from entering or may be expelled from the building despite having a valid admission ticket, to the exclusion of any refund claims.  

  

11 Food and drinks  

Food and drinks may not be taken into the exhibition.  

  

12 Admission for late arrivals  

You have a grace period of 30 minutes after the start of your booked slot/time slot to visit the exhibition.   

  

13 Smoking prohibited  

Smoking is generally prohibited on the premises of the Port des Lumières.  

  

14 Lost property  

Lost property is kept at the ticket office and can be collected there within four weeks.  

  

15. expulsion, ban from the premises  

Persons who violate these house rules or fail to comply with instructions may be asked to leave the building without prejudice to further legal action and to the exclusion of any claims for reimbursement. In addition, a temporary or permanent ban may be imposed.  

  

PART 2: GENERAL HOUSE RULES   

  

§ 1 Scope of application  

These house rules apply on the premises and in all rooms of the Port des Lumières  

  

§ 2 Instructions  

The instructions of the operator and the security bodies deployed by him (control, security and security services as well as police officers and other regulatory authorities) must be followed immediately within the area of application. Persons who violate these house rules may be expelled from the premises. The same applies to persons who disobey orders.  

  

§ 3 Checks  

Persons who are suspected on the basis of their behavior, other indications or findings that  

  

- they are under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs or  

  

- they have weapons or dangerous objects in accordance with the Weapons Act or  

  

- other objects prohibited under these house rules (e.g. pyrotechnic articles)   

  

with them  

 

or  

- endanger the security and order of the Port des Lumières,   

  

the control, security and public order service as well as police officers and other regulatory authorities are entitled to carry out checks. The checks may also extend to objects being carried. Anyone who does not consent to their person being checked will be barred from entering the Port des Lumières by the control, security or public order service or police officers or other regulatory authorities or will be expelled from the premises if they are found there. Persons who are persistently disruptive or who are obviously impaired by alcohol, drugs or other intoxicants may be prevented from entering or expelled from the building despite having a valid admission ticket, to the exclusion of any claims for reimbursement.  

  

Irrespective of this, random bag checks may be carried out by admission and security staff at peak times.  

  

§ 4 Use of the premises  

For reasons of safety and to avert danger, visitors are obliged to move to other areas of the building or to leave the building if instructed to do so by the operator or the control, security and/or public order services or employees of the police and other regulatory authorities.  

  

Within the area of validity, everyone must behave in such a way that no other person is harmed, endangered, hindered, harassed or threatened.  

  

Unauthorized persons are not permitted in areas within the Port des Lumières that are specifically reserved for employees and suppliers or service providers.  

  

Escape routes must be kept clear. The marked escape routes must be used in the event of danger.  

  

The loudspeaker announcements and the instructions of the security staff must be followed in the event of danger.  

  

§ 5 Opening hours  

The premises may only be used during the defined opening hours and must be vacated immediately at the end of these hours at the latest.  

  

§ 6 Cleanliness  

Visitors are obliged to treat the premises and their facilities with care, to leave them in a clean condition and to avoid damaging them. In particular, no waste, ashes, harmful liquids or similar may be poured or thrown into sinks and toilets. Waste must be disposed of in the garbage bins.  

  

§ 7 Advertising and decoration  

Advertising or propaganda measures of any kind as well as the installation of decorations and other objects are generally prohibited in the area of validity unless they have been authorized in writing by the operator in individual cases. The distribution of advertising material, flyers, folders and magazines in the area of validity is only permitted with the approval of the Port des Lumières, notwithstanding other official regulations.  

  

§ 8 Liability / assumption of risk  

Access to and use of the area of validity is at the visitor's own risk.  

  

The aisles and other circulation areas as well as escape and rescue routes must be kept clear without restriction. Objects, especially luggage, may not be left unattended.  

  

§ 9 Prohibitions  

The following actions are prohibited for visitors within the scope of these house rules:  

  

- carrying or using weapons or dangerous objects as well as objects which, if thrown, could cause bodily injury to persons;  

  

- carrying or using gas spray bottles, corrosive or coloring substances or pressurized containers for highly flammable or harmful gases, with the exception of commercially available pocket lighters;  

  

- the carriage of animals of any kind, with the exception of guide assistance dogs  

  

- the use of laser pointers;  

  

- the carrying and use of inline skates, scooters, skateboards, etc.  

  

- begging;  

  

- with objects 

 

- carrying and consuming drugs and alcohol;  

  

- to write, paint, spray or stick anything on buildings, facilities or paths;  

  

- disseminating racist, xenophobic or otherwise radical propaganda material, uttering right-wing extremist slogans or expressing a right-wing extremist attitude through gestures  

  

If damage is caused by other culpable acts of damage, the perpetrators will be held liable for compensation in accordance with the statutory provisions. If it is suspected that a person has committed a criminal offense or administrative offense within the scope of these house rules, a report will be made.  

  

§ 10 Right to one's own image  

For reasons of security and order, the area of application is subject to video surveillance.  

  

§ 11 Final provision  

These house rules shall enter into force on the day of commissioning/handover of the Port des Lumières. By entering the area of validity, visitors and users recognize these house rules as binding. These house rules may be amended by the operator at any time and without giving reasons. Each new edition (version) of these house rules automatically replaces any previous edition and thus supersedes it.
